Many of you know that I am an avid fan of the Wise (the service formally known as TransferWise). I have used Wise with a combination of the RappiPay service for over two years to pay for services and withdraw money within Mexico. Well, in January of 2021, things got a little weird with financial transactions in Mexico. New laws went into effect, and that had an impact on my RappiPay service. Not to mention that when I had an issue, the customer support for RappiPay has been less than stellar. Therefore, I went last week to open a bank account. This video today talks about the process of cashing a check and opening an account in Merida, Mexico. There were definitely some unexpected moments in this process.
